I found bits of foreign material inside the lens assembly, and jammed in between the gear teeth. I didn't think him barely sitting on it would damage it. The lens will not retract into the camera. Matias,As mentioned, these fixes only seem to work for less than half of lens errors. well, by the 7th (10th?) time, I tried hitting it from the top right side, and, miraculously everything fell back into place.
