Sometimes a lens can be damaged in a fall beyond repair. But thought it won't hurt to try...Canon A510..powers on, shows the canon screen, lens stuck (almost all the way in except for maybe about 3/16 of an inch)then powers off. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try. These cameras are mostly made of plastic, and it can even happen under regular use where nothing was done wrong. hi i have a powershot a85 and it stopped working (ie) will not turn on. The idea is that the camera should try to autofocus while extending the lens. have been bumbed for weeks cause my S95 has a permanent lens error note and the lense stays extened..
