It had this lens error and I noticed the whole lens was crooked. According to what you were doing there is a possiblity that its jus sand or someting that got caught in the lens. I tried the blow-dryer again today and that didn't work, so I tried banging my camera on the carpet, and OMG, it worked. Keep in mind that you may damage the camera further, and please don't blame me if you do. Thanks. Holy shit!

I tried some of the things here but it is not working. Other variations include blowing with a hair dryer in "no heat" setting, or sucking the gaps with a vacuum (careful with this one). Doesn't matter what maker. Is there anything you suggest I do or am i due for a new camera? Now the camera turns on, the lense goes out and in, but it will not take pics, and makes a dumb repeating da dadadada sound every time i press a button. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended.
